As of the end of September 2025, the total number of electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure units (ports) in China reached 18.063 million, a year-on-year increase of 54.5%. Among them, public charging infrastructure units (ports) stood at 4.476 million, up 40.0% year-on-year. The total rated power of public charging piles reached 199 million kilowatts, with an average power of approximately 44.36 kilowatts. Private charging infrastructure units (ports) amounted to 13.587 million, a year-on-year growth of 60.0%, and the reported installed electricity capacity of private charging facilities reached 120 million kilovolt-amperes.
The top 10 regions in terms of public charging infrastructure construction—Guangdong, Zhejiang, Jiangsu, Shandong, Shanghai, Henan, Sichuan, Anhui, Hubei, and Hebei—accounted for 66.6% of the national total. National charging electricity consumption was mainly concentrated in provinces and municipalities such as Guangdong, Jiangsu, Hebei, Sichuan, Zhejiang, Shanghai, Shandong, Fujian, Henan, and Shaanxi. The electricity flow was primarily used for buses and passenger cars, while the proportion for other vehicle types such as sanitation and logistics vehicles and taxis was relatively small. In September 2025, the national total charging electricity volume was approximately 7680 million kilowatt-hours, a decrease of 420 million kilowatt-hours from the previous month, with a year-on-year increase of 52.4% and a month-on-month decrease of 5.2%.
By the end of September 2025, the top 15 charging operation enterprises in China by the number of operating charging piles were as follows: TELD (842,000 units), Star Charge (710,000 units), Yunchongkuai (673,000 units), Xiaoju Charging (289,000 units), Weijingyun (249,000 units), State Grid (196,000 units), Lvchongchong (154,000 units), Shenzhen Chedian Network (108,000 units), Huichongdian (98,000 units), China Southern Power Grid (90,000 units), EV Power (80,000 units), Kunlun Grid Power (70,000 units), Wancheng Wanchong (55,000 units), Weilan Fast Charging (53,000 units), and Haihuide (51,000 units). These 15 operators accounted for 84.2% of the total number of charging piles, while the remaining operators accounted for 15.8%.
From January to September 2025, the increment of charging infrastructure was 5.245 million units, a year-on-year increase of 84.9%. Among them, the increment of public charging infrastructure was 897,000 units, with a year-on-year growth of 48.9%, and the increment of private charging infrastructure was 4.348 million units, a year-on-year rise of 94.6%.
